  • The Beauty of Hearts in Nature

Nature often surprises us with its subtle messages and shapes, and one of the most charming discoveries is the appearance of hearts in nature . These natural heart shapes can be found in unexpected places, from the curve of a river to the delicate patterns of ice in winter. They remind us of the connection between the environment and human emotions, offering moments of wonder and reflection. This heart appeared from the river ice on March, Friday the 13th, 2026. I was in awe!

  • Enchanting Night seeing a Fox by the River Bed

This beauty walked across my river bed camera. It even stopped and gave a beautiful pose!

  • Navigating Our Crappy Winter Road Conditions

It is so crazy this winter... soooo much snow! Our road usually gets rough and flooded some, but this year is peak!! And still so much snow to melt yet. What you can't see in the video is there are 10-12" wheel ruts and you cannot navigate out of them due to no clearance to the side. Glad I drive a Jeep!

  • Turkey Jerky

What to do with all that leftover turkey? Make turkey jerky! It's been our family favorite for many years. It's not tough and chewy, it's crispy when you shred it small. What I don't say in the video is after seasoning, marinate over night in the fridge.

  • Heart Rock Alert

Went for a walk today along the shore of Lake Superior. I came upon this heart rock in the sand. Beautiful!

  • Northern Lights

Went over to Lake Superior to get some shots of the Northern Lights (aurora) last night. She was very active and stunning to watch. It was super windy and chilly but so worth it. By the naked eye, it was mainly white... some tint of green. Amazing how looking through a camera lens brings all the colors out. I took the photos with iPhone 15 Pro. It does pretty well. They are unedited except that I straightened the horizons... because crooked horizons drive me crazy! I have a hefty Nikon camera but I get discouraged with that to shoot auroras. So much tinkering around with a tripod and getting the settings just right.

  • Wild Turkeys

These are the biggest birds I've ever had at my bird feeders! And it's soooo close to Thanksgiving! Turn your sound up!

  • Skunk vs Cat

I caught this video in the middle of the night of my neighbors cat and a skunk encounter. The next morning, I texted my neighbor, the owner of the cat in the video, and asked her if her cat smelled like skunk. Thankfully, he didn’t get sprayed!

  • Lake Superior Rainbow

It’s a stormy day. I like to go out when it’s storming to take pictures of clouds and hope that a rainbow will come. On this day it did. Lake Superior always delivers if you're looking for photography adventures. Even though the rainbow isn't over the lake... it's still beautiful.

  • Going Home Mackinaw Bridge

When you live in the UP (Upper Peninsula) and have been traveling.... this is how I feel when I go home crossing the Mackinaw Bridge!
